BRIEF: Chicago area dental group offering free care to those who can't afford it

Dec. 02--People may complain about going to the dentist, but you won't hear that from those who have to go without. Dental miseries are a special pain that can fiercely escalate when left untreated. That's why the team at Chicagoland Smile Group is offering the less fortunate an uncommon luxury Dec. 11: a free trip to the dentist.

The "12 Dentists of the Holidays," a team of dentists, hygienists and specialists, will be performing cleanings, X-rays, diagnostics and more as part of their first ever charity initiative.

Patients will be seen on a first-come, first-served basis only and will be treated for as long as time allows. Patients must be at least 12 years old and accompanied by a guardian if under age 18. Doors will open at 8 a.m. Friday at all Chicagoland Smile Group offices.
