Feb. 23--If you see "Jane the Virgin" star Gina Rodriguez on the street, don't yell "virgin" at her.
Rodriguez, who grew up in the Belmont Cragin neighborhood on the Northwest Side, told Conan O'Brien in Monday's episode of "Conan" that some people shout at her when they recognize her.
"It must be weird when people forget your name, and they're like, 'Virgin,'" O'Brien said.
"But it's always so angry," said Rodriguez, 31. "They're so angry about it."
If she ever needs to defend herself against aggressive fans, Rodriguez can rely on the boxing skills she learned from her father, a longtime boxing referee.
"I wouldn't fight me," Rodriguez said.
"Jane the Virgin" airs 8 p.m. Mondays on The CW.
"Conan" airs weeknights on TBS at 10 p.m.
