BRIEF: 'Chewing,' a Chicago-produced food and health podcast, launches

Feb. 15--Chicago writer Louisa Chu, who starts this week as a reporter for the Tribune, and WBEZ reporter Monica Eng, a frequent Tribune contributor, have pushed play on a new food podcast called "Chewing."

On the inaugural episode of the podcast -- which will look at food through the lens of pleasure and health (and the two in tandem; they're not mutually exclusive, of course) -- Chu and Eng, who formerly co-hosted WBEZ's "Chewing the Fat" podcast, interview a godfather of the paleo diet who's changing his tune, ask nutrition experts what to eat for breakfast (hint: look at the photo above) and dig into moonshine paczki, a buzzy version of the Polish doughnut Chicagoans line up for on Fat Tuesday.
