BRIEF: Charges filed in shooting deaths of 2 teens in Ford Heights

Dec. 04--Charges have been filed in the shooting deaths of two teens found inside a van in Ford Heights last month, authorities said.

Ladarius Harris, 22, of Chicago Heights, was charged Wednesday with first-degree murder, according to the Cook County sheriff's office.

Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of shots fired about 1:25 a.m. Nov. 2 in the 1500 block of Park Lane and found Cyrus Johnson, 19, and Ephram Nelson Jones, 17, dead inside a 2001 white Ford van, officials said.

Harris was arrested Tuesday, the sheriff's office said.

Two days earlier, a man and a woman were discovered shot dead of a home on the 1400 block of Regent Lane in Ford Heights.

Mchezo McMillian, 38, of that address, and Ashley Hudson, 21, of the 1200 block of West Birch in Homewood, were both pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office. Both suffered several gunshot wounds.

There was no indication from police that the slayings were related to the fatal shootings of the teens.
