May 24--Traffic slowed to a crawl along the 170 Freeway in North Hollywood on Tuesday morning after a truck spilled ceramic debris onto the roadway and blocked several lanes.
The lane closures began just after 5:14 a.m. when the truck struck a center divider on the westbound 134 Freeway overpass and spilled debris onto cars traveling on the 170 Freeway below, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At least one motorist told CHP officers that some of the debris had gotten into his eye.
The truck's load contained bath supplies and plumbing equipment. Crews worked for more than two hours to remove debris from freeway lanes.
