BRIEF: Celeb obsession: First lady vs. El Chapo

Jan. 15--Mimicking styles of the rich and famous is a long-established practice, as first lady Michelle Obama has proven again.

The marked-down version of her marigold Narciso Rodriguez midi dress -- worn at President Barack Obama's final State of the Union address -- reportedly sold out in minutes on the Neiman Marcus website.

Gillion Carrara, director of the Fashion Resource Center at the School of the Art Institute Chicago, said this response seems logical.

"We too would like to look as handsome and as healthy and as accomplished as Mrs. Obama," she said.

But the infamous can be trendsetters too.

Barabas Premium Apparel has deemed its "Fantasy" men's button down the "Most Wanted," thanks to Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman. The "Fantasy" and "Crazy Paisley" shirts are both on back order after the dealer was photographed in the designs.

So, whose closet would you rather raid? Whether your taste level is first lady sophistication or Mexican drug lord tacky, we have options.
