BRIEF: Casting announced for 'Tug of War' at Chicago Shakespeare

Jan. 20--Chicago Shakespeare Theater has announced the ensemble of Barbara Gaines' two-part, six-play history cycle "Tug of War."

Performing over 100 Shakespearean characters throughout a century of British history will be Karen Aldridge, David Darlow, Matt Deitchman, Jed Feder, Neil Friedman, Kevin Gudahl, Shanna Jones, Timothy Edward Kane, Heidi Kettenring, Daniel Kyri, Elizabeth Ledo, Michael Aaron Lindner, James Newcomb, Barbara Robertson, Freddie Stevenson, Steven Sutcliffe, John Tufts, Alex Weisman, Tahirah Whittington, Dominique Worsley and Larry Yando.

"Tug of War," a main event of the Shakespeare 400 festival, will be performed in two parts, with "Foreign Fire" beginning May 11 and "Civil Strife" kicking off on Sept. 14.

The complete catalog of the 850 citywide events comprising Shakespeare 400, a yearlong celebration of the Bard, will be announced Wednesday at British Consul General Stephen Bridge's residence.
