BRIEF: Casting announced for 'Carlyle' at Goodman Theatre

Feb. 09--The Goodman Theatre has announced casting for the Thomas Bradshaw world-premiere "Carlyle."

To be directed by Benjamin Kamine, the production will feature James Earl Jones II in the titular role, with Patrick Clear, Maureen Gallagher, Tim Rhoze, Levenix Riddle, Tiffany Scott, Charlette Speigner and Nate Whelden.

Bradshaw's timely play follows the autobiography of an African-American lawyer who counts himself as a member of the Republican Party, having been recruited by the party runners to represent the GOP's growing diversity.

"Carlyle," first seen at the Goodman in a developmental production part of the 2014 New Stages festival, will play in the Owen Theatre from April 2 -- May 1.
