BRIEF: Casting announced for 'Bye Bye Birdie' at Drury Lane

Dec. 17--Michelle Aravena will star as Rosie in "Bye Bye Birdie," Drury Lane Theatre announced Thursday.

The cast of the rock-and-roll musical about a teenage heartthrob who carries out a publicity stunt before being inducted into the army will also include Matt Crowle as Albert, George Wolff as Mr. MacAfee, Brianna Borger as Mrs. McAfee, Catherine Smitko as Mae Peterson, Leryn Turlington as Kim MacAfee, Rowan Moxley and Cam Ezell as Randolf MacAfee, Ryan Stajmiger as Hugo Peabody, Stephanie Hansen as Ursula Merkle, Laura Savage as Gloria Rasputin, Roger Mueller as the Mayor and Jill Shellabarger as the Mayor's Wife.

The ensemble features Mike Accardo, Johnson Brock, Amanda Compton, Cole Doman, Nicholas Foster, Kim Green, Rhett Guter, Maya Lour Hlava, Jhardon DiShon Milton, Hanah Rose Nardone, Anthony Norman, James Rank, Isabelle Roberts, Jenna Schoppe, Holly Stauder and Monica Thomas.

The role of Conrad Birdie has yet to be announced.

As previously announced, Tammy Mader will direct.

"Bye Bye Birdie" closes out the company's season and runs Jan. 14 -- March 13 at Drury Lane Theatre, 100 Drury Lane, Villa Park.
