BRIEF: Cars parked in Geneva lot targeted by catalytic converter thieves

Nov. 03--Six catalytic converters from vehicles parked in two commuter lots near Geneva's downtown Metra station have been stolen in the past week, Geneva police said.

The thefts have primarily occurred during the day, between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., police said in a news release. The two lots are located on the 600 block of South First Street and the 300 block of Crescent Place.

Police warn commuters to notify police of any suspicious people, cars or activity in the parking lots so they can be investigated.

Those with information regarding the thefts are asked to contact the Geneva Police Department Investigations Division at 630-232-4736.
