BRIEF: Carell to discuss Second City stint on 'Inside the Actors Studio'

Dec. 11--Steve Carell will discuss his training at Second City in an episode of "Inside the Actors Studio" scheduled to air Thursday, the Bravo network has announced.

Carell, who performed at Second City in the late 1980s and early 1990s, also will talk about his penchant for playing losers in movies and on TV with show host James Lipton. The episode is slated to air at 7 p.m.

Carell, 53, portrayed insensitive boss Michael Scott on "The Office" during much of the show's eight-year run. He also starred in "The 40-Year-Old Virgin," "Little Miss Sunshine" and "Foxcatcher," which garnered him Oscar and Golden Globe nominations.

Carell earned a Golden Globe nomination Thursday for his portrayal of a hedge fund manager in "The Big Short," which is slated to hit some theaters Friday.
