BRIEF: Canadian Pacific seeks new use for Schiller Park intermodal site

Jan. 20--More than two years after it closed an intermodal facility in Schiller Park, Canadian Pacific is advancing plans to find another use for its 75 acres near O'Hare Airport as well as three surplus Canadian facilities.

The company Tuesday said it formed a joint venture with Dream Unlimited., a Canadian real estate company that has $14.7 billion in assets under management in North America and Europe.

The railway closed the Schiller Park facility in 2012 as part of a plan to cut costs and boost profitability. Traffic was shifted to an intermodal terminal in Bensenville.
