BRIEF: Cal State Long Beach student sexually assaulted at frat party, police say

Feb. 16--Police are looking for a man who sexually assaulted a Cal State Long Beach student at an off-campus fraternity party over the weekend.

The student said the attack occurred during a party at the Kappa Sigma fraternity early Sunday, Long Beach police said in a prepared statement.

Police learned of the incident on Monday and said the attacker was a man in his 20s, who was unknown to the victim. It was unclear if the attacker is affiliated with the school, officials said.

"This appears to be an isolated incident. There is no indication, at this time, there is any safety concerns to the community," Long Beach police said in a statement.

The Long Beach chapter of the Kappa Sigma fraternity has been suspended while authorities investigate, university officials said.

Anyone with information about the attack is asked to call police at (562) 570-7368.
