BRIEF: Bus hits pedestrians in Redondo Beach

Feb. 05--Multiple people were hurt Wednesday evening when a Los Angeles Department of Transportation bus hit pedestrians in Redondo Beach, according to police.

The incident happened about 6:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of South Catalina Avenue in the Riviera Village shopping district, according to the Redondo Beach Police Department.

The intersection is closed down for the investigation.

Images from the scene shared on social media showed sheets have been draped over the front of the bus. Eyewitnesses told KABC-TV Channel 7 that at least one person has died.

Aerial footage from the scene, provided by KTLA-TV Channel 5, showed the LADOT bus surrounded by fire engines and authorities.
