BRIEF: Burt Reynolds appearing at Wizard World Comic Con Chicago

June 10--Burt Reynolds' rare public appearances are becoming slightly less rare.

The 79-year-old "Boogie Nights" and "The Longest Yard" star -- who has spent much of the last few years out of the spotlight -- is scheduled to appear Aug. 22 at Wizard World Comic Con Chicago at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. He will take part in a Q and meet-and-greet with fans, just like he did last month at Wizard World Comic Con Philadelphia.

"I always enjoy talking to fans and I'm usually very pleased with their curiosity about my career, what I'm doing, what I'm not doing, and why I'm not doing more," Reynolds told the Philadelphia Inquirer prior to the event.

Reynolds underwent quintuple bypass surgery in 2010. He currently teaches acting lessons at the Burt Reynolds Institute for Film and Theatre in Lake Park, Fla.

Wizard World Comic Con Chicago takes place Aug. 20-23 and is scheduled to include appearances by "The Walking Dead" actors Norman Reedus, Michael Rooker and Jon Bernthal (did you see Bernthal was cast to play Punisher in Netflix's "Daredevil"?), WWE Superstars The Undertaker and Daniel Bryan and "Full House" actress Jodie Sweetin.
