BRIEF: Burlington middle school student charged with disorderly conduct

April 14--A 14-year-old Burlington Central Middle School student was escorted off the bus Wednesday morning by officers, following a report that the student had made threats about committing a shooting at the school, according to a release from the Kane County sheriff's office.

According to the release, at 7:30 a.m. Kane County Sheriff's deputies were notified by officials at the school, 44W303 Plato Rd. in Burlington, that they had received information from a parent that a student had made a threat about committing a shooting at the school.

Deputies received the information about the threat as students were on their way to the school, the release said. After the school buses arrived, deputies and school administrators escorted the student, who was suspected of making the threat, off the bus. It was determined that the student did not have any weapons with him.

The student was charged with disorderly conduct and was released to his parents and he did not attend school, the release said. There was no disruption to school activities.
