BRIEF: Burbank resident returns home to find suspected burglar in backyard

Feb. 09--A 22-year-old suspected burglar was arrested Saturday evening after a resident came home and found him in her Burbank backyard, police said.

Around 6:40 p.m., the resident parked at her home, located near Magnolia Boulevard and Reese Place, and after noticing that her front porch light was off and a window screen was on the ground, she saw the man in her backyard, according to Burbank Police Officer Karel Castro.

She yelled at him and called police, who responded and set up a perimeter in the area.

An officer spotted the suspect, identified as Burbank resident Deymond Fowler, trying to walk past the perimeter and detained him, Castro said.

Items missing from the home, including a hard drive and set of keys, were recovered in the yard.

Fowler is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
