BRIEF: Bulls star Jimmy Butler buys River North mansion for $4.3 million

Sept. 22--Chicago Bulls guard Jimmy Butler last week paid $4.3 million to buy a six-bedroom, 10,000-square-foot mansion in River North.

An All-Star last year, Butler, 26, has been with the Bulls since 2011. In July he signed a five-year contract with the team worth up to $95 million.

Butler bought in a neighborhood that has been popular with athletes. Chicago Bears running back Matt Forte early this year paid $4.025 million for a mansion close by.

Radio host Jonathon Brandmeier recently sold his River North mansion for almost $4.69 million.

Built in 2008, Butler's mansion has 5 1/2 baths, an elevator, electric shades, a custom staircase, a 750-bottle wine cellar, a landscaped roof deck, two other outdoor spaces and an attached three-car garage.

The mansion had been listed in May for $4.6 million. It went under contract Aug. 25. The seller was Greg Mutz, CEO of Amli.

Paul Gorney of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices KoenigRubloff, who represented Butler, declined to comment on the deal.
