BRIEF: Wednesday recap: Bulls 102, Pacers 100

Dec. 31--The Bulls rallied for an improbable 102-100 overtime victory over the Pacers on Wednesday night when Jimmy Butler tipped home Pau Gasol's alley-oop with 1.2 seconds left at the United Center. Butler then thwarted Paul George's lob attempt at the other end.

Turning point

The Bulls rallied from a five-point deficit in the final minute of regulation thanks to Butler, who scored 11 points in the period.

Butler. He did it all while scoring 28 points.

Injury update: Already without Mike Dunleavy and Joakim Noah, the Bulls lost Derrick Rose as a late scratch to right hamstring tendinitis. For the Pacers, both Jordan Hill and Bulls-killer C.J. Miles sat. Ian Mahinmi left in the third quarter with a sore left knee.
