BRIEF: Bulls narrow D-league team name contest to three

Dec. 17--The Chicago Bulls Thursday announced that they have whittled potential names for the new NBA Development League team down to three.

Sadly, none of them is the IncrediBulls. Or the PlausiBulls. Or even the SensiBulls.

The team says it received nearly 3,600 suggestions from fans. According to rules the Bulls established, the name must end in "Bulls." Community pride, geographic location and community pride are other criteria.

The three finalists are: Great Lakes Bulls, Heartland Bulls, Windy City Bulls.

Yep, we're a little disappointed too.

What about RecyclaBulls? Or FashionaBulls? Or SuburbanBulls?

From today through Dec. 22, fans can vote for the three finalists at bulls.com/dleague. The winner will be announced in early 2016, the Bulls say. The website does not allow for write-in votes.

The team, regardless of its name, will begin play in the 2016-17 season at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates.
