Saturday's recap: Pacers 99, Bulls 90

Nov. 16--The summary

Despite finishing a back-to-back and missing six rotation players to injury, the Pacers downed the Bulls 99-90 Saturday night at the United Center. A.J. Price's 21 points off the bench, 21 points and 11 rebounds from Luis Scola and 21 points and 12 rebounds from Solomon Hill led the Pacers, who outrebounded the Bulls 46-34. Jimmy Butler's career-high 32 points led the Bulls, who played without Derrick Rose. The Bulls dropped to 2-3 at home and failed to place at least five players in double figures for the first time this season.

Turning point

Price scored seven points, including two 3-pointers, in an 11-0 fourth-quarter run that turned the Pacers' 77-71 lead into blowout territory.

Tribune player of game

Scola. Every time the Bulls appeared to gain some momentum, Scola seemed to hit a bit shot. He went 10-for-12 from the field.

Big number

4: The Bulls entered averaging eight 3-pointers a game in a new weapon for them this season but went just 4-for-17 from beyond the arc.

The quote

"We just played a low-energy game in every aspect." -- Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau

The quote II

"Everybody in this league has 13 to 15 guys. If you have guys out, the next guy has to step up. That's all there is to it. Nobody is feeling sorry for you. You just bring it. That's the way it is." Pacers coach Frank Vogel, channeling his inner Thibodeau, on their widespread injuries.
