BRIEF: Bulls finalize summer league roster, coaching staff

July 07--In advance of a minicamp opening Tuesday night, the Bulls finalized their summer league roster and coaching staff.

The Bulls open summer league play in Las Vegas on Saturday against the Timberwolves.

First-round pick Bobby Portis joins incumbents Doug McDermott and Cameron Bairstow on the roster, which also includes former Illinois guard Rayvonte Rice and former Marquette guard Vander Blue.

As previously reported, the Bulls retained assistant coach Mike Wilhelm for a 14th season, moved assistant general manager Randy Brown into an assistant coaching role and hired Charlie Henry from Iowa State.

Henry, 29, spent the last three seasons with Fred Hoiberg at Iowa State. He also previously worked with new Bulls' associate head coach Jim Boylen with the Indiana Pacers and at the University of Utah. Henry served as a video intern with the Pacers but won't fill that role with the Bulls, who hired Nate Loenser as video coordinator.

Wilhelm has now survived five coaching changes, having worked for Bill Cartwright, Scott Skiles, Jim Boylan, Vinny Del Negro and Tom Thibodeau.

Brown spent the last six seasons in the Bulls' front office.
