BRIEF: Bulls call Joakim Noah's shoulder surgery successful

Jan. 19--Joakim Noah underwent shoulder surgery Tuesday morning. Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg called it "100 percent successful."

The Bulls, who earlier said Noah would need four to six months of rehabilitation, also called the left knee surgery Noah underwent in May 2014 "minor." Instead, Noah later admitted the procedure involved the removal of cartilage and it affected his movement through most of last season.

Noah dislocated his left shoulder in last Friday's home loss to the Mavericks. He will be an unrestricted free agent for the first time in his career this offseason.

"Hopefully we'll get to see him here soon," Jimmy Butler said. "He's still going to be joking around even though he won't be playing with us. That's big."
