BRIEF: Building demolition forces temporary closure of Interstate 215

Nov. 19--A portion of northbound Interstate 215 in Grand Terrace will be closed Tuesday evening for the demolition of a nearby building damaged by a fire.

The roughly one-mile stretch between Barton Road and Iowa Avenue will be closed between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. About 8 p.m., there will also be a traffic hold on southbound traffic, according to the California Department of Transportation.

A fire Monday destroyed a two-story building, with damage estimated at more than $1 million, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

The building in the 22000 block of Commerce Way is close to the northbound 215 Freeway.

Caltrans is posting live updates on the demolition and freeway closure on its Twitter page, @Caltrans8.
