Feb. 12--Former Chicago Bears quarterback Josh McCown, who signed a two-year deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as an unrestricted free agent last March, has been released, the team said Wednesday.
McCown started 11 of the Buccaneers' 16 games in 2014, including the final eight. He completed 184 of 327 passes (56.3 percent) for 2,206 yards and 11 touchdowns with 14 interceptions and a passer rating of 70.5.
With the Bears in 2013, McCown started five games in place of the injured Jay Cutler and guided them to three wins. He completed 66.5 percent of his passes for 1,829 yards and 13 TDs with one interceptions and a passer rating of 109.0.
