Dec. 22--Bub City, the popular country-themed barbecue restaurant in River North, will open a second location in Rosemont in February.
The new Bub City, which will be in Rosemont's nightlife-heavy MB Financial Park, will partner with Joe's Bar on Weed to create Joe's Live, a 1,500-seat concert venue attached to the restaurant.
"It's such a cool area, such an opportunity," said Bub City partner Jerrod Melman. "This is our biggest venue to date; we're really excited about booking shows for crowds of that size."
The Rosemont menu will be very similar to that in River North, both overseen by executive chef Doug Psaltis. "The kitchen is a bit bigger," said Melman, "which gives us the opportunity to add a smoker. But otherwise, the menu will be 90 percent the same."
