BRIEF: Bruce Springsteen announces United Center show for August

May 09--Bruce Springsteen announced Monday he will return to the United Center in August, seven months after playing "The River" album from front to back at the Near West Side arena.

Springsteen's "The River Tour" is scheduled to stop at the United Center 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28. Tickets, which cost $55-$150, are slated to go on sale 10 a.m. Saturday via Ticketmaster.

The United Center date is one of eight dates Springsteen announced Monday. This U.S. leg of the tour is scheduled to kick off Aug. 23 in New Jersey and wrap up Sept. 14 in Massachusetts.

Springsteen and the E Street Band are slated to begin an 11-week European jaunt Saturday.
