BRIEF: Browntrout returns as pop-up concept Trout Kitchen

Nov. 12--Browntrout closed its doors Aug. 30, but chef/owner Sean Sanders and crew have returned.

Back, in their old North Center digs (4111 N. Lincoln Ave.), Sanders and his team have created Trout Kitchen, an entity that will produce collaborative dinners, private functions and other food events.

This weekend, for instance, Trout Kitchen will function as a pop-up restaurant whose menu, dubbed "The Diner," will feature a bakery case and walk-up service for lunch, and sit-down and carryout service at dinner, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday through Sunday. No reservations accepted.

The menu will be distinctly diner-ish, featuring omelets, burgers, chicken-fried steak and something called a "wall-eye melt." Beer, wine and cocktails will be available, along with soft drinks.

This is very good news for Browntrout fans; stay tuned for news of other events by checking browntroutchicago.com
