BRIEF: Brookfield woman, 94, dies in Lemont crash

April 11--A 94-year-old Brookfield woman was killed in a collision Friday afternoon near the corner of 107th Street and Archer Avenue near southwest suburban Lemont, police said.

According to a preliminary investigation, the woman, Lillian Linduska, was a passenger in a 2011 Subaru Outback which was hit by a silver 2002 Mercury Sable traveling westbound about 2:40 p.m. on Archer Avenue. The Mercury crossed over into eastbound traffic and collided with the Outback, said Cook County sheriff's spokesperson Sophia Ansari in an email.

Linduska, of the 4400 block of Sunnyside Avenue, was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 4:10 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The drivers of the Outback and Mercury were also taken to area hospitals and appeared to have minor injuries.

No other details were immediately available.
