Nov. 08--A 20-year-old man accused of shooting a 19-year-old woman in the head over the summer in the East Chatham neighborhood was ordered held in lieu of $900,000 bail Saturday.
Travis Dunn, of the 500 block of East 50th Place in the city's Bronzeville neighborhood, is charged with aggravated battery in the shooting that happened at 1:20 p.m. July 8, according to Chicago police. The woman survived the shooting.
While on foot, Dunn allegedly fired a bullet that went through the window of a car and hit the woman in the back of the head as she sat in the passenger seat, prosecutors said. The shooting took place on the 900 block of East 83rd Street.
The woman was taken to the University of Chicago Hospital in critical condition, and later taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
Dunn was identified by the victim and a witness on the street, prosecutors said. He was arrested Wednesday about 8:10 p.m. on the 4600 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue at a CTA bus stop, according to court documents.
Prosecutors said Dunn has a history of seven misdemeanors, including aggravated assault, reckless assault and possession of cannabis. He is employed at a Dunkin' Donuts restaurant.
