BRIEF: Brett Hundley's running makes UCLA more effective near goal line

Nov. 13--UCLA ranks first nationally in red zone offense, having scored points 38 of the 39 times from the opponents' 20-yard line or closer. The Bruins have 25 touchdowns and 13 field goals.

Part of that is due to quarterback Brett Hundley's running ability. He has scored seven rushing touchdowns, all inside the red zone, this season, including four in the last four games.

"What has happened is we have improved on the outside enough that they have to respect us, which gives Brett some opportunities," offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone said. "In the last few weeks, he has taken advantage of those opportunities."

Hundley has 27 career rushing touchdowns, second to Gary Beban among UCLA quarterbacks. Beban had 35 from 1965 to 1967.
