Nov. 19--Bears receiver Brandon Marshall on Showtime's "Inside the NFL" Tuesday questioned the NFL's player conduct policy and how the league has handled discipline of Vikings running back Adrian Peterson, who was suspended Monday for the remainder of the 2014 season without pay.
"Speaking from the players' perspective, where we're confused and kind of frustrated is we're talking about a new policy, but his actions came under the old conduct policy," he said.
Marshall acknowledged the severity of the child abuse allegations against Peterson and but expressed his belief that the conduct policy needs to establish a clearer disciplinary structure.
"What the players are saying is that we all know that the NFL's job is to protect the shield with integrity," he said. "And sometimes it doesn't feel like it's being done with integrity. So, that's where you see a lot of the griping and complaining in the locker room. Guys are like, we are going to talk about integrity? Let's do it with integrity."
