BRIEF: Brandon Marshall expected to speak at Chicago-area conference, as planned

March 15--Despite the fact that the Bears traded him to the New York Jets Tuesday, Brandon Marshall is still expected to speak March 26 at the Missions and Marketplace Conference at Living Word Christian Center in Forest Park, according to a spokesperson for the conference.

The three-day conference hosted by Dr. Bill Winston kicks off March 25 with keynote speaker Bishop T.D. Jakes and ends March 27 with screenwriter and author Alex Kendrick ("Fireproof"). The conference website said attendees will be "inspired and challenged to attain higher levels of visionary leadership for today's challenges and can expect to hear from God for His wisdom and answers to their business, ministry, or life questions."

Marshall -- who is still listed as a Bears wide receiver on the Missions and Marketplace website -- launched the Brandon Marshall Foundation to raise awareness for mental health issues. He was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder in 2011 and has worked closely with mental health-focused causes, including Thresholds.
