BRIEF: Brake problem causes delays on Brown, Purple lines

Jan. 12--A brake problem on an inbound CTA train at the Chicago Avenue station caused brief delays on the Brown and Purple lines Monday morning, officials said.

The brakes apparently stuck on a Brown Line train, according to Catherine Hosinski, a spokeswoman for the Chicago Transit Authority.

Power to the tracks was shut off for about 10 minutes and passengers were taken off the train and boarded another one, she said.

Service resumed by 10 a.m.
