BRIEF: Boys hoops: Jalen Brunson named to USA U19 World Championship team

June 18--Jalen Brunson already won a state basketball title as a Patriot. Now, he'll aim for another championship on a bigger stage for Team USA.

Brunson, who played for USA Basketball at the 2014 FIBA Americas U18 Championships, was named to the 12-member roster Wednesday for the under-19 national team.

The 2015 FIBA U19 World Championships run from June 27 to July 5 in Heraklion, capital of the the Greek island of Crete.

Brunson was 5-0 during his stint with the under-18 team and won gold in Colorado Springs. He also played for the U.S. in April at the Nike Hoop Summit, where the Americans lost 103-101 to the World Select Team.

Brunson paced Stevenson to a 30-3 record and the Class 4A title in March for the Patriots' first basketball championship. He'll play for Villanova in the fall.

Arizona coach Sean Miller will head Team USA's coaching staff in Greece, alongside his brother Archie Miller of Dayton and Providence's Ed Cooley.
