BRIEF: Boy charged in North Side shooting in February

March 06--A boy was charged with shooting a man in the back last month in the Arcadia Terrace neighborhood, police said Saturday.

The shooting happened on the 5800 block of North Washtenaw Avenue on Feb. 23, at about 3:15 p.m., police said.

The victim was an 18-year-old man who was taken to Presence St. Francis Hospital in critical condition.

The boy, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, was charged with felony aggravated battery. Police did not say how he was identified nor gave his age.

At the time, police said the shooting happened when someone stepped out of a older blue Chevy Caprice and shot the man.
