BRIEF: Missing boy, 9, found safe

UPDATE -- Chicago police say that a 9-year-old boy who had been missing since Friday afternoon has been found safe. No other details were available.

Police are searching for a 9-year-old boy who was reported missing Friday from the Englewood neighborhood.

Damonta Dawson was last seen about 3 p.m. Friday in the 5500 block of South Carpenter Street, according to a police alert.

The boy is 4 feet tall, about 95 pounds with brown eyes and a scratch on his neck, police said. He was last seen wearing a navy blue pop shirt, navy blue pants and blue shoes.
