April 07--An 8-year-old boy was accidentally shot by another 8-year-old and then brought to Mount Sinai Hospital by a relative Tuesday morning, officials said.
Police said the boy was in good condition with a wound to the abdomen.
The boy and another child, also 8, were playing with a gun inside an apartment in the 3700 block of West 13th Street when it discharged about 10:45 a.m., police said.
Police taped off the east half of a red-brick three-story apartment building between an alley and Independence Boulevard on 13th Street.
It's not clear whether anyone was in custody or whether anyone will face charges in connection with the incident. Detectives remained at the scene Tuesday afternoon.
