BRIEF: Boy, 17, charged in stabbing near CTA Brown Line

June 07--A 17-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a stabbing near the Western Avenue Brown Line CTA station in the city's Lincoln Square neighborhood.

Police said earlier that an argument broke out about 4:30 p.m. Thursday on the platform in the 4600 block of Western Avenue involving a man and a woman, two other men and a woman the couple knew.

The argument moved to the ground level, where the couple were stabbed, police said.

A 17-year-old boy was arrested later that night and was eventually charged with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, said Officer Jose Estrada, a spokesman for the Chicago Police Department.

It was not clear Sunday afternoon if the police were looking for more suspects in the attack.
