March 24--A 17-year-old boy has been charged in an accidental shooting that left a 14-year-old girl in critical condition, police said.
The boy and the girl were sitting at a table in a home in the 7100 block of South Ingleside Avenue in Grand Crossing on Tuesday afternoon when the gun went off as he was showing it to her, according to police.
The girl was hit in the neck and taken in critical condition to Comer Children's Hospital, police said.
The boy was charged with aggravated discharge of a firearm and was expected to appear in Juvenile Court on Thursday.
