3 hurt in separate shootings

Dec. 16--Three people, including two teenage boys, have been wounded in separate shootings since Tuesday evening on the West and North sides, Chicago police said.

Most recently, a 17-year-old boy walked into Mount Sinai Hospital after he was shot around 1:05 a.m. Wednesday in the Lawndale neighborhood, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.

The teen was walking in the 1300 block of South Lawndale Avenue when an attacker walked up to him and fired shots, hitting him in the leg, Greer said.

The teen was treated and released from the hospital.

Around 12:15 a.m., a man to get himself to Swedish Covenant Hospital after getting hurt in a shooting in the Uptown neighborhood on the North Side, Greer said, citing preliminary information.

The male, age 24, was in the 4700 block of North Sheridan Road when he heard gunshots and realized he was grazed in the foot by a bullet, police said. He was listed in good condition.

About 7:10 p.m., a 16-year-old boy was injured after being shot in the Austin neighborhood, police said.

The teen was shot in the hand in the 900 block of North Long Avenue, police said. He was taken to West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park in good condition, police said.

No one was in custody for the shootings, and no other details were being released.
