BRIEF: Boy, 15, in serious condition after South Side shooting

Jan. 11--A 15-year-old boy was in serious condition after being shot inside a convenience store in the Park Manor neighborhood on the South Side on Saturday evening, police said.

The teen was at the store in the 600 block of East 75th Street with several other people when a male entered and fired shots around 10:25 p.m., said Chicago Police Deparrtment News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro.

The 15-year-old was struck in the left side of his neck and his right knee, Alfaro said. He was transported to University of Chicago's Comer Children's Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition, Alfaro said.

No one was in custody as a result of the shooting as of Saturday evening, and no other details were available about the incident.
