BRIEF: Bomb units sent to NW Side hotel parking lot

Aug. 23--Chicago police bomb and arson unit investigators were being called to the Oriole Park neighborhood on the Northwest Side after a report of a suspicious object, police said.

About 11:40 a.m. police were called to the 8100 block of West Higgins Avenue, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago police spokeswoman.

Police said the call involved a suspicious object, Sedevic said. Traffic in the area was being diverted.

The object was reported in the parking lot of the Springhill Suites hotel at 8101 W. Higgins Ave., officials said.

No other information was immediately available.
