BRIEF: Bomb threat forces evacuation of CPS' Skinner North School

April 06--Students and staff were evacuated from Skinner North Classical Elementary School after a bomb threat was reported Wednesday morning, according to school officials.

An email from the staff at the school at 640 W. Scott St. was sent to parents indicating that at 11:45 a.m. the school received a bomb threat.

According to the email, the students were evacuated to Jenner Academy of the Arts, 1119 N. Cleveland Ave.

School officials said they were working with Chicago Public Schools and Chicago police officials to "ensure the building is safe."

According to the email, initial searches indicated that the building was safe.

CPS officials said staff and students were returning to the building as of 1 p.m.

Chicago police and school officials could not provide additional information.
