Dec. 30--For the second time this week, the Los Angeles police bomb squad responded to a suspicious package at an L.A. Times-adjacent parking garage.
LAPD Capt. Don Graham Kim said the department received a report of a suspicious package about 2:30 p.m. It turned out to be a red suitcase, he said, on the second floor of the six-floor structure on Spring Street at 2nd Street. The bomb squad was called in to examine the case.
On Sunday night, police were called to investigate a suspicious-package at the same garage, also on the second floor.
It wasn't a bomb, "just some nasty messages that someone decided to leave for the police," LAPD Sgt. Gia Rueda said of Sunday's package.
The garage is used by the newspaper's employees as well as other tenants who rent space inside the Times building.
