June 10--A body has been identified that was pulled from the North Shore Channel June 1 near Peterson Avenue on the North Side in the city's West Rogers Park neighborhood.

Klaus Schuller, 47, of the 5300 block of Madison Street in Skokie was identified as the person found. The cause and manner of death is pending, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

The Chicago Police Department marine unit was sent out shortly before 10:30 a.m. on June 1 after an alert about a body in the water near the 3100 block of West Peterson Avenue, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:10 p.m.
