BRIEF: Body pulled from Lake Michigan on North Side

June 05--The body of a man was pulled from Lake Michigan in the Lakeview neighborhood Friday morning, officials said.

Shortly after 10 a.m., the Chicago Police Marine Unit responded to a call of a body in the lake near Belmont Avenue, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a spokeswoman for the Chicago Police Department.

Rescuers pulled a man from the lake, and he was taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Cooper said.

The man has not been identified.
