BRIEF: Body found on Loop Brown Line platform identified

July 25--A 21-year-old woman was found dead on a Brown Line platform Saturday morning in the Loop, police said.

CTA staffers called police about 7 a.m. when they saw the body of the victim, who appeared to be an African-American woman in her early 20s, on an "L" platform at 30 N. Wells St., police said.

She was identified as June Ward of the 3800 block of West 63rd Street.

The cause of her death was not immediately known and police said her body, which was lying down, showed signs of "possible trauma.'' She was not hit by a train, police said. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday.

As of 7:30 a.m. trains were bypassing the Washington/Wells station because of police activity, the CTA's website said.
