BRIEF: Body found off Navy Pier identified as woman missing from West Rogers Park

April 27--A woman's body found Saturday afternoon in Lake Michigan near Navy Pier has been identified as that of a woman missing since February from West Rogers Park, authorities said.

Jessica Suarez, 21, was last seen about 6 a.m. Feb. 25 leaving her home in the 6100 block of North Talman Avenue. Her car was later found parked in the 5100 block of North Simonds Drive in Lincoln Park, near Lake Michigan.

Family and friends posted large missing-person signs along the lakefront, near where the car was found.

Suarez's body was discovered Saturday afternoon near the lighthouse off Navy Pier. Police were called to the scene at 4:20 p.m. about a mile off the end of Navy Pier, police said.

The body has been identified as Suarez, but a determination of the cause and manner of her death are pending further studies, a spokeswoman for the Cook County medical examiner's office said in an email Tuesday.
