BRIEF: Man found in burned-out car on Far South Side was shot to death

Oct. 02--A man found in a burned-out car in the Roseland neighborhood had been shot to death, according to authorities.

Authorities found the man around 2:10 p.m. Wednesday in the 10700 block of South Eggleston Avenue, according to Officer Thomas Sweeney, a Chicago police spokesman.

Police initially opened a death investigation but later reclassified it to a homicide investigation when authorities determined the man had been shot.

The man's identity was not available.
